Wooltrace is yarn with a mission, backing the sustainability of British farming, guaranteeing fair pay and flock welfare. The yarn is spun and dyed by Laxtons in West Yorkshire. Each ball is fully traceable to the farm from which the sheep were reared, by scanning the QR code on the yarn's ball band through Laxton's Farm Finder.

Wooltrace is a worsted-spun DK with a comfortable twist, spun from pure Romney. This gives the fabric a satisfying toothiness that will hold its form, and keep the shape of cables and textured stitches. The 25g balls make this a super choice for accessories and projects that need small quantities of many colours.

Laxton’s mill in Baildon, West Yorkshire, has been milling natural fibre yarns for four generations. In 2020 they launched Wooltrace as part of a new handknitting yarn collection, to close the loop and put yarn straight into makers’ hands. Every yarn spun as part of this collection is sourced within 50 miles and finished through a carefully considered process.
